OSI Group manufactures and distributes processed meat products to wholesale clients and customers all over the world and are most known for being the main supplier for McDonalds Corporation.

OSI Group produces everything from raw meats purchased frozen at supermarkets including breakfast bacon and sausages, to already prepared made-to-go foods and customized meal packages. The company owns many large processing plants and uses state-of-the-art automation and high speed technology to produce high quality food, but they also employ safe methods in doing so. Their adherence to factory safety procedures and environmental codes has won numerous awards including the British Safety Council’s Globe of Honour in 2016.

OSI Group has always put customers first and made sure their employees are happy with their job, something that has been part of its family tradition since its founding. Otto Kolsschowsky started the company as just a butcher shop located in a quaint Chicago neighborhood in 1909, and he and his sons went to work every day to produce fine finished beef and poultry meats. The Kolschowskys took the shop further in the coming decades and built a large company out of it, eventually entering the longtime partnership with McDonalds in 1955. But it didn’t stop there, they soon began buying large plants across Chicago and growing their operations overseas.

OSI Group hasn’t just bought other companies as they’ve grown, they’ve looked to help those companies continue what they’ve been doing and keep their current employees. Some of their recent buyouts have been Tyson Food Plant, Baho Foods, and Flagship Europe. OSI Group also values philanthropy and is one of the largest sponsors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
